Since 2002, AMS has engaged in contracts with most of the major turbine engine manufacturers
(Aero and Power Generation) in the U.S. and Europe as well as the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. Our customer list for turbochargers in both the U.S.
and Europe is growing as well. AMS offers a full suite of products (software, data acquisition electronics, as well as optical and eddy current probes) and services for any
customers NSMS needs. Some of our customers are complete Agilis NSMS System purchasers while others are using our software and/or consulting or test
support with their own NSMS System. Some customers utilize us via rental of our equipment and software for testing and subsequent data analysis. Our equipment
has flown on FAA test bed engines and survived months of continuous Prognostic Health Monitoring (PHM) testing on power producing engines while connected to the
electricity grid. |

Our NSMS Services |
The NSMS test process begins by customizing a probe best suited to an application. For most applications, optical
probes designed and built in-house are used. For gas paths too dirty for optical probes, eddy current or capacitive probes are utilized. Our wide variety
of customized probes allow a diverse and encompassing group of turbine setups including: |
- Gas Turbines
- Aero Engines
- Power Generation
- Turbochargers
- Turbine Pumps
- Low/High Stage Compressors and Turbines
|
|
| The data we collect is converted into deflections and each blade is analyized as a simple harmonic oscillator. Our services include: |
- Design Validation - Confirming expected vibratory characteristics from models, strain gauge data, vibrometry, etc.
- Troubleshooting - HCF failures due to unknown drivers
- Continued health monitoring - Defining more realistic engine life expectancies based on stress and cycles.
- Detecting blade crack propogation well before engine failure.
