At Agilis Measurement Systems, our engineers use mostly HP workstations with dual hyperthreading xenon processors, 2 GB of RAM, and around 100 GB of harddrive space. We connect them via MXI express bus to a PXI chasis. The chasis utilizes either 4 2-channel 5114 digitizer cards or 1 8-channel 5105 digitizer card. The AMS system is unique in the industry as raw signals are not pre-amplified before digitization occurs. Probe signals are digitized directly and sent to the CPU. The simplified architecture of the system minimizes exposure to noise sources and thus maximizes the quality of the tip timing data.
