    Traveling Wave

    The main graphical display below in the traveling wave analysis is the traveling wave waterfall plot. It is a 3D graphical display of an FFT waterfall plot across the analysis range. There are by default 100 FFT slices spread evenly across the data range.  The x axis is the location in the analysis range. It can be revolution or rpm linear. The beginning of the data range is at the back of the plot. The y axis is the observed order which is a sum of the engine order and the nodal diameter. The z axis is the deflection amplitude. The graph can be viewed from any angle.

    In order to determine the blade engine order and nodal diameter, an order tracking must be initiated. There are three methods available for order tracking. Upon completion of the order tracking across the data range, a plot of the peak amplitude will be created in a new window called the order tracking plot. The blade engine order value, the 1st derivative of the order with rpm and the nodal diameter of the response, which was used as the order tracking underlying assumption, will be displayed on the order-tracking plot below..

    The traveling wave order tracking plot displays the results of the order tracking analysis performed in the traveling wave waterfall plot. The frequency, order or nodal diameter found during predictive order tracking can be overlaid on the graph. The scale is located on the left side of the graph with color matching to its order tracking plot.
